  • His Hand

    The waters swirled around me,
I had lost all sense of direction.
    I was quickly drowning,
in an ocean of my own making.

    I fought my way through,
    trying to save myself
    but the more I struggled
    the faster I sank

    Until I saw your hand
    reaching down for me.
You pulled me from my ocean,
    and finally I could breathe

    I asked you,
Dear Lord, why did you wait so long?
Dear Lord, why did you allow me to struggle in vain?
And my Savior looked at me with love in his eyes and said,
    I was always there,
waiting for you to open your eyes.

  • Is keeping up with the time worth it?

Usually when I take my break at work I watch the news...... well on CNN during the weekends you get to watch the same thing over and over and they have been airing a story they call "ATM for Jesus". It is about a church down south that has put an ATM in their church... This ATM is made special so you cannot withdraw money from it. Its sole purpose is to make it easier for the members of the church to tithe. Throw your ATM card in and you can give them direct access to your bank account. A contreversial issue obviously. Some people say that it is a great thing the church is keeping up with a time where no one carries cash anymore, but others have doubts, is this really bibical? My thoughts are that it is not a good thing.... you stand at this ATM and it is obvious what you are doing.... You might as well shout to the whole church "LOOK AT ME, I'M TITHING!"

    Matthew 6

1TAKE CARE not to do your good deeds publicly or before men, in order to be seen by them; otherwise you will have no reward [[a]reserved for and awaiting you] with and from your Father Who is in heaven.

2Thus, whenever you give to the poor, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites in the synagogues and in the streets like to do, that they may be [b]recognized and honored and praised by men. Truly I tell you, they have their reward [c]in full already.

3But when you give to charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4So that your deeds of charity may be in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly.

In effect we are taking away the secrecy of our good deed. We are doing them publicly and we may receive praise from everyone else, but that is not where the praise should come from it should come from God. I would love to hear everyones thoughts on this issue..... What do you think? Are we taking away the secrecy of our good deed or not? Is keeping up with the modern age really worth it?

  • Painting.......

So this week I have been doing some painting over at the Mc Dermotts and I have figured out that paint is not fun to scrub off. But if you get the right thing you can scrub it off quickly and the redness dissapears pretty quickly also!!!!! (and thank you all for the remarks about how I am not supposed to paint myself but I always do so I have simply given up!) Besides that this week I have been busy but it has been fun! I created a couple of websites played Sherene in a PS2 game and by the way I dominated. Listened to Jennifer Kildal finish her book (YAY all my girls finished). Then we went on a walk outside, which was really fun! But the best part of this week would definitely have to be forgetting AWANA bus kids at the church! ........Actually that wasn't so great but it all turned out all right!  And I spent too much time on the computer down at campus today, but once again it has been quite enjoyable!!!! Oh and I also decided my Xanga site wanted to be in touch with the spring season!!!!
